Bouncy Ball or Egg?
Are you a bouncy ball or egg?
As my girls would say…. Wait, WHAT!?
After my car accident, I frequently found myself lying on the floor looking for relief from pain. Being at home on short-term disability, all I had was time on my hands. More specifically, all I had was time on my back. I would be in so much pain daily I could often be found struggling to find the perfect spot to relieve pain while lying on the ground and squirming like a kid forced to eat ALL their vegetables.
This gave me lots of thinking time. For the first year, I was stuck in a victim mindset instead of looking for what I could do to move forward.
I don’t recommend this path for anyone.
However, I’ve come to believe this car accident HAD to occur for me to stay calibrated toward my ultimate goal of living an abundant and fulfilled life.
I was forced to drop my cardboard facade and deal with my brute force approach to success.
Serving a large corporate entity was a path to make a living and provide for my family, but it was not a path for me to fully express my superpowers. I needed a forced separation from the grind of day-to-day achievement to gain this clarity.
People spend time BLAMING THE CAUSE when the real insight is that the trauma/adversity/challenge only reveals what is inside you.
More specifically the force of impact reveals your true colors
So back to the original question. Are you a bouncy ball or egg?
An egg breaks upon impact. And makes MORE MESS with greater impact.
A bouncy ball generates MORE ENERGY with more impact.
What are you made of on the inside? Do the adversity or obstacles in your life cause you to push forward with more tenacity… or cause you to crumble?
